The Commonwealth Youth Programme, has been the Commonwealth Secretariat’s hub for youth development since 1973. Its core concern is Youth Empowerment. It works through four regional offices based in Africa, Guyana, India and Solomon Islands and focuses on engaging and empowering young people in order to enhance their contribution to society. This is done in partnership with young people, governments and other stakeholders.
Goodenough College is the principal residential centre for international postgraduate students in London, occupying Mecklenburgh Square in the heart of Bloomsbury. The College is a distinctive academic community of some 700 members from around 90 countries world-wide. The majority are studying for Masters Degrees or Doctorates in a wide range of disciplines at most of London's academic institutions. The College has a very strong musical tradition and is able to stage its own gala concerts and full blown operas each year employing the talents of the 50 or so musicians per year who are studying within its boundaries. The Commonwealth Foundation is an intergovernmental organisation established in 1965, resourced by and reporting to Commonwealth governments, and guided by Commonwealth values and priorities. It aims to strengthen civil society in the achievement of Commonwealth priorities - democracy and good governance, respect for human rights and gender equality, poverty eradication and sustainable, people-centered development, and to promote arts and culture.
The Commonwealth Broadcasting Association [CBA] is the largest global association of public service broadcasters. Its members are the broadcasters that communicate daily with the 2 billion citizens of the Commonwealth. The CBA continues to support and facilitate high standards of media production and broadcasting, including the promotion of arts, science and diversity, throughout the Commonwealth.
For over 60 years the Royal Over-Seas League has helped thousands of outstanding young musicians from Commonwealth countries through its Annual Music Competition and Commonwealth Music Scholarships.
The Royal Commonwealth Society (established in 1868) is an international education charity with a remit to promote international understanding across The Commonwealth, especially amongst young people.
The Commonwealth Business Council (CBC) provides leadership in increasing international trade and investment flows, creating new business opportunities, promoting good governance and corporate social responsibility, reducing the digital divide and integrating developing countries into the global market. In fulfilling its mission, CBC strives to provide a bridge between the private sector and governments, between emerging markets and developed markets and between small businesses and international private sector.
